IFB Product Brochures
Company: Medica
I love being able to take user research and come back with a solution. In these projects, I had working sessions with the project manager to figure out the typical beginning-to-end flow of a consumer shopping for insurance. What’s most important? What are the questions that need answering?
With these product brochures for Individual and Family plans, I took a look at my own user experience and the people who knew less than me about health insurance. I never had a resource that guided me through the process, nor explained all the pieces and parts. What we created was something explained simply.
These also paired with product brochures in other areas of health insurance, like Medicare and Medicaid. Though they had different information and different goals for the business, I was able to make them all cohesive.
CONSIDERATIONS
New brand recognition
Market differentiation
Member cost-savings
Confusing networks + plan
Featured care systems

In addition to the product brochures, I also designed the Member Plan Guides. The information on those didn’t flow as a story, unlike the acquisition pieces. It was bucketed more into chunks of resources for the member with lots of calls to action. The hardest part to coordinate was the QR codes - trying to make them not stand out against the main design. There was also difficulty finding variety because almost every section was structured the same way.
